The Team
Adam M. Satnick
Partner
Adam is a Los Angeles native who has represented clients in both State and Federal court. Adam has experience advising clients in various business, real estate, and general litigation matters, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, securities law, and a broad range of real property disputes. Adam previously worked at a four-attorney civil litigation firm representing both plaintiffs and defendants. In early 2017, Adam left his firm and opened a successful solo practice.
In 2019, Adam and Benson founded Satnick Lau LLP to bring their modern vision of a law firm to fruition. In less than one year, Satnick Lau LLP has had unprecedented success, including drafting an amicus brief to the Supreme Court of California, persuading the High Court to affirm a judgment for over half of a billion dollars.
Adam is an award winning legal researcher and writer, a vociferous advocate in the courtroom, and has a broad range of legal knowledge and acumen.
In June 2020, Adam was first selected to the Southern California Rising Stars list. In 2021 he was selected again. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the State are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.

Benson K. Lau
Partner
Benson Lau, a Hawaii native, has called Los Angeles home for more than a decade. He began his legal career as a litigator handling civil, real estate, entertainment, and corporate matters in California state and federal courts.
Today, Benson’s practice spans business and property disputes, consumer protection and debt-defense, employment litigation, elder abuse, and personal injury. He represents individuals against larger institutions, including debt collectors, landlords, employers, insurance carriers, and care facilities. He also represents California businesses in litigation, transactions, and entity work.
Benson entered the cannabis industry before California’s Adult Use of Marijuana Act and continues to represent operators across cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, testing, and retail. His cannabis work includes licensing, compliance, M&A, intellectual property, and disputes with municipalities and landlords.
For start-ups and small businesses, Benson advises on choice of entity, formation, governance, and ongoing structural matters. He also handles commercial and residential real estate transactions.
Before practicing law, Benson was a FINRA-registered financial advisor, providing investment advice and financial planning to businesses and professionals. That background informs how he reads contracts, assesses risk, and counsels clients on business decisions.
Benson serves on the advisory board for Cinema Makeup School, a Los Angeles institution training the next generation of beauty and special effects makeup artists for the film, television, fashion, and entertainment industries.
